Home Birth Midwifery

There has been a lot going on here at Baltimore Birth Services over the last year. In the fall of 2016 I began to work as a birth assistant for a local home birth midwife. As of January 2017 I have enrolled in a midwifery program at the National College of Midwifery and began an apprenticeship. I have since graduated, sat for my exam to become Certified Professional Midwife, and am now a practicing Licensed Direct Entry Midwife. Follow me at my new practice: Moonstone Midwifery.

As a doula, I have supported families in all birth settings- hospital, birth center, and home. Doulas provide physical and emotional support to mothers and their families, they do not perform clinical tasks or make medical decisions. As an Certified Professional Midwife, I support women birthing in the comfort of their own home, providing holistic, family-centered maternity care. During the final stage of my midwifery apprenticeship I will acted as the primary midwife, under the supervision and guidance of my preceptor, Dianne. I have lead hundreds of prenatal and postpartum visits, as well as cared for and assisted over 100 women and parents during their births. I am so excited to have launched my own home birth midwifery practice at Moonstone Midwifery.
